It seems everyone likes convenience these days. We all seem to be short on time, and finding quick solutions to some of our day to day tasks is what it’s all about. Whether at Christmas time, or any time of year, shopping for gifts is time consuming. There is always someone on our list that is hard to buy for; we either don’t know their size, favorite color, or what they may or may not already have. That’s where gift cards, either online (Apple, eBay, Amazon...) or offline (Walmart...) come in handy. By purchasing a gift card you can give the gift of choice.

The best personalized gift?

A gift card may not seem like a very personalized gift, but nothing could be further from the truth. By giving a gift card you are offering the recipient the choice to pick exactly what they want. You can’t get any more personal than that!

Business gift cards are convenient, and easy to find as well. Major chain store gift cards can be purchased not only at the business location itself but from many other retailers and even online (i.e. Visa, Amazon or Apple iTunes gift cards). If you have more than one person to buy for and you need gift cards from a variety of stores, you can often do a one stop shop at a drug store or grocery chain and pick them all up at the same time.

Once you pay, the cashier will scan and activate the card for you. It’s a good idea to hold on to the receipt until the recipient has used the card just in case, as that will be the only proof of purchase they have.

Where to find gift cards?

Gift cards are available for a multitude of retail stores, as well as gas stations, and for some services as well, such as a spa or salon. Everyone from big box stores, to book stores, to restaurants are in on the secret, and from a business standpoint it makes good sense. Gift cards comprise close to 20% of a restaurants business, whether they are being used by someone who is already a patron of their establishment or by someone who has never been there before, a business gift card is as good as cash.
